Lucy’s List – June (week 4)

Oh, gawd. So tired. I can confirm that drinking a pint of full sugar, full caffeine Coke right before bed is a bad idea. I know, right?! Urgh. As some of you may know, I used to drink a lot of fizzy pop. Originally it was Diet Coke. When I used to commute to London for work, I lived on the stuff. Then, as a stay-at-home mum, I cut right back to only having a couple of glasses in the evening. The same way a lot of parents have a glass or two of wine after the kids are in bed. My glass of pop signified the end of a busy day. My chance to relax and unwind.

Lucy’s List – June (week 3)

Summer is here! We’ve had lovely weather this week. The girls have been playing barefoot in the garden every day after school and again after dinner. It’s great to see them coming in at bedtime, grubby and tired and happy. I hope they remember these days of childhood.

Meanwhile we have a new member of the family! I’d like you all to meet Enid…

Lucy’s List – June (week 2)

What a week! I’m utterly exhausted. My youngest has been poorly so there has been a lot of interrupted sleep, extra laundry, and last minute trips to the doctor, with blood tests and such. At first we thought it was just a 24-hour tummy bug but it’s clearly not that at all. I’m not so much physically tired (although I certainly am) but completely drained from all the worry. They still haven’t really got to the bottom of it but they seem hopeful that it should pass on its own without any intervention. Meanwhile, I could do with a fortnight’s holiday on my own, somewhere sunny!

Lucy’s List – June (week 1)

Ugh. Back on the school run. I’m already knackered and counting down to the summer holidays. On the plus side, it’s our beautiful biggest girl’s ninth birthday this weekend. Can’t quite believe I’m old enough to have a nine year-old but apparently it’s official. I am OLD. Scientifically proven after finding my first grey hairs last week!

Lucy’s List – May (week 4)

Busy busy busy this week, so I haven’t been around much. It’s the half term holidays so I have both children and the husband at home. It’s messy and noisy and our normal routine completely goes to pot but I love it. I’ve been working on my crochet orders and the husband always has a ton of work he has to bring home with him. But we’ve had brilliant weather so we made time for the girls and had a few days out.

Lucy’s List – May (week 3)

It’s payday here! I’m determined to rein in my unnecessary spending this month. I got a bit carried away last month with buying cloth pads (pad I really don’t need!) and it made the last couple of weeks until payday a real stretch.

Lucy’s List – May (week 2)

Hmm. Too many takeaways are creeping in. It’s not good. I always factor one in every week because it’s our treat and gives me a night off from cooking. But I mentioned a couple of weeks ago that I’ve been a bit run down and tired lately and one takeaway has turned into two. It’s an awful waste of money and isn’t going to help me get my mojo back.
