This is my last November list. My next one will be December – aaaaaaaargh! DON’T PANIC! It’s a bit scary that I’ve just organised next month’s meal plan and it included meals for Christmas week. I included some lovely light meals for those first few days after Boxing day when you really can’t face anything too heavy. Or meaty. Or chocolate-based.
Anyway, that’s next month. For now, here’s just your normal average meal plan. There are a couple of really lame junk meals on here this week. Sorry about that. But we all do it sometimes, don’t we?
MONDAY: fried eggs, potato cakes and The Thing! (to be blogged)
TUESDAY: sticky mustard pork loin steaks, jackets and veg
WEDNESDAY: sweet and sour salmon with brown rice and prawn crackers
THURSDAY: freezer food – chicken nuggets, hash browns and mixed veg!
FRIDAY: spicy squash and chickpea couscous
SATURDAY: pizza, onion rings and mega snack-out with Dr Who!
SUNDAY: Byron burger before cinema with The Husband
Tuesday’s pork steaks are amazingly easy. My mum used to make them when I was younger. Put the raw meat into a big Tupperware box. Big dollop of English mustard, a good amount of Demerara sugar. Lid on and shake, shake, shake, until the meat is really well coated. Put them on a tray and chuck it in the oven for half an hour or so. When they’re all sticky and caramelised, they’re done. Get someone else to do the washing up though. The tray will be like tarmac.
I’ll be blogging a couple of the other dinners in the next few days, so watch this space…
